Job Summary:
The Technical Services Manager oversees the Technology Department’s support of application software and ensures support objectives are aligned with district policies, practices, goals, and objectives. The Technical Services Manager supervises a team of support personnel to ensure the efficient operation of application software; ensures application data is shared appropriately; and ensures that application software is integrated with the greater enterprise. This position supports Yuma Union High School District #70 and Yuma Elementary School District #1.
Essential Job Functions:
- Recruit, develop, and supervise a team of support personnel and foster a collaborative, growth-oriented work environment.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of support practices.
- Configure and maintain application software optimal performance and use (e.g., monitor performance, review improvements, coordinate updates, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with application software.
- Interface with vendor support personnel to understand application software functionality, resolve issues and request enhancements.
- Provide training to end-users on the use of application software.
- Review the completeness and accuracy of application data and reconcile discrepancies.
- Report data to district stakeholders (e.g., State and Federal agencies, partners, etc.).
- Oversee change management control practices and ensure alignment with district policies and practices.
- Provide customer service, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy, over the phone, in-person, and via communications platforms (e.g., email, chat, etc.)
- Use resources (e.g., search engines, knowledge bases, wikis, documentation, forums, etc.,) to independently research problems and find resolutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, district personnel, vendors, and service providers, etc., to improve support and resolve problems.
- Provide project management for assigned projects.
- Participate in meetings, training, conferences, projects, etc.
- Prepare reports and documentation related to personnel performance, system performance, projects, initiatives, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required (Education & Experience)
- High School diploma: Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar program preferred.
- 5-years of experience providing information technology support; experience providing application support preferred.
- A combination of experience and education, including industry certifications, may be substituted for education and experience requirements.
Additional Eligibility Requirements
Position Type & Work Schedule:
- Full-time, 8 hours a day, Monday - Friday
- 12 months
- May need to work during emergencies and occasionally on evenings and/or weekends.

- Extensive knowledge of application software and support methods.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to create plans and schedule activities to complete assigned work.
- Proficient with or able to quickly learn systems and support practices.
- Proficient with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Ability to adapt to changing work priorities; display technical aptitude; be attentive to detail; and work under time constraints.
- Ability to perform algebraic math; read and understand technical information; create documents; present information to others; and solve practical problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate with a team and establish effective working relationships.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Work Conditions:
- Work with computer systems and electronics.
Note:
- Some travel between the districts’ facilities.
