Job Summary:
As a Campus Custodian, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for students, faculty, and staff. Your responsibilities will revolve around ensuring the school premises are well-maintained and conducive to learning. You will be an essential member of the school support staff, contributing to the overall well-being of the educational community.
Essential Job Functions:
? Arranges furniture and equipment to provide adequate preparations for meetings, classroom activities, and/or special events.
? Attends unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. for gathering information required to perform job functions.
? Cleans assigned facilities (e.g., classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, labs, shops,
etc.) to maintain a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment.
? Informs students and other site personnel to provide information and direction regarding activities, safety issues, and/or proper maintenance of facilities and equipment.
? Maintains job-related custodial equipment (e.g., changing belts, cleaning equipment,
changing bags, etc.) to ensure the availability of equipment in a safe operating condition.
? Performs summer maintenance (e.g., strip/wax floors, move furniture, wash walls/windows, etc.) to complete and/or facilitate summer construction.
? Replenishes classroom and restroom supplies (e.g., paper towels, soap, etc.) for the
purpose of ensuring adequate quantities for daily use.
? Responds to inquiries from staff, students, parents, and/or visitors for providing information, taking appropriate action, and/or directing to appropriate
personnel for resolution.
? Respond to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (e.g., facility damage,
vandalism, alarms, etc.) to take appropriate action or notify appropriate personnel for resolution.
? Supports other site maintenance staff (e.g., grounds, trades, etc.) to complete site custodial activities. ? Assists in on-the-job training of new staff on routine procedures.
? Unlocks doors, ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas
? Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required (Education & Experience)
? High School Diploma or equivalent
? One year of experience in commercial cleaning. (preferred)
Additional Eligibility Requirements
? Valid driver’s license.
Position Type & Work Schedule: (Full-time or Part-time, normal daily hours, months per year)
? Full-time, 8 hours a day, Monday - Friday
? 12 months
? May need to work for emergency situations including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (required to do the job)
? Adhering to safety practices; and operating equipment used in industrial maintenance including electrical cleaning equipment, common tools, etc.
? Perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percent, and/or ratios
? Read and follow instructions, and understand multi-step written and oral instructions.
? Knowledge of methods used in industrial cleaning, and safety practices and procedures.
? Ability to schedule activities, collect data, and use job-related equipment.
? Ability to select and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
? Ability to work professionally as a member of a team in a fast-paced, diverse, deadline-driven environment.
? Ability to understand verbal instructions.
? Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
Work Conditions:
? Indoor work with some outdoor work.
? Exposure to chemicals daily.
? Be able to lift and manipulate heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
? Noise level may be louder at times due to machinery.

? May travel to other campuses within the school district.
